While I enjoy exploring texture and color across clay, glass, and mixed media, my primary goal is to create narrative artwork inspired by storytelling and personal life experiences. Books and theatrical productions are major sources of inspiration for my practice. For instance, my Mad Hatter Lantern allowed me to play with structural cutouts and contrasting colors to bring the whimsical world of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland to life.

Environmental advocacy is another core pillar of my work. I sculpt animals to highlight the delicate nature of their ecosystems and draw vital attention to the threat of extinction. My foundational character sculpture, Sid the Axolotl, was created specifically to raise awareness for this critically endangered species, inviting viewers to connect with a beautiful creature that many people know very little about.

A recurring visual thread throughout my portfolio is the sun and moon motif, which can be seen on my hand-painted guitar, the collaborative community mirror, and my celestial masks. To me, this imagery symbolizes my relationship with my sister, who is my best friend. Though we have very different personalities, we are always there for each other. Just as the sun and the moon are rarely in the sky at the same time yet remain two sides of the same coin, our bond persists even when we are apart.

My mother and sister are central themes within my art, being some of the most important people in my life and the deepest inspirations behind my creativity. While these personal narratives may not always be immediately obvious to the viewer, family ties anchor several of my projects. I am currently expanding on this through an independent series of handmade ceramic masks that explore the complex, loving relationship between my mother and me, translating our shared memories and her influence into tactile, sculptural forms. Ultimately, I view my art as a vehicle for storytelling, and I look forward to sharing many more narratives in the coming years.
