This sculptural display mask translates the regal drama and emotional journey of the Broadway musical Anastasia into a striking visual object. The hand-sculpted form features a vibrant, matte blue base accented by metallic-glazed silver wings emerging from the sides. The center profile is adorned with a dense cluster of brilliant red rhinestones that mimic a crown or jeweled headpiece, catching the light with every angle. Part of a larger series dedicated to my relationship with my mother—who passed down her lifelong love of theater and storytelling—this non-wearable, functional display mask stands as a deeply personal exploration of heritage, memory, and narrative performance history.
