This sculptural display mask offers a contemporary interpretation of the classic theatrical comedy mask, split down the center to showcase two distinct stylistic halves. The left side features an intricate, heavily textured surface covered in raised dots and crackled sage glaze, while the right side displays a clean, smooth silhouette finished in a matte forest green with graphic engravings around the eye. Part of a larger series dedicated to my relationship with my mother—who passed down her lifelong love of theater and storytelling—this non-wearable, functional display mask explores the duality of performance, performance history, and deep familial memory.
