This series merges threatened animals from the IUCN Red List into single organisms to highlight global habitat loss. To make a heavy topic easy to digest, I sculpt these creatures with a friendly, nostalgic, teddy bear-like aesthetic. This approachable design invites viewers to connect deeply with wildlife conservation rather than turning away from it. This piece combines a Sumatran Orangutan and an Asian Elephant. Sumatran Orangutans (Pongo abelii) are Critically Endangered; fewer than 14,000 individuals remain in the wild as rapid logging and palm oil agricultural expansion destroy their native forest canopy. The Asian Elephant (Elephas maximus) is considered Endangered. Its wild global population has plunged by nearly 50% over the last three generations, restricted by severe habitat fragmentation and increasing human-wildlife conflict
