Fired ceramic with glossy and matte glazes

This sculptural display mask brings the mythological landscape of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night's Dream to life through the mischievous character of Puck. The hand-sculpted form blends organic and animalistic features, framed by heavy, curved ram-like horns coated in a smooth tan gloss. The face is covered in overlapping, hand-veined green leaves with a rich matte finish, emerging from an earthy brown center profile. Part of a larger series dedicated to my relationship with my mother—who passed down her lifelong love of theater and storytelling—this non-wearable, functional display mask beautifully captures the spirit of folklore, classic stage production, and shared creative roots.
