This sculptural display mask translates the eternal optimism and iconic imagery of the Broadway musical Annie into a vibrant, narrative object. The hand-sculpted form features a dual-layered composition, with a brilliant yellow sunburst radiating across the forehead before meeting a wave of soft, puffy white and blue clouds layered across the lower cheeks and chin. The title directly references the production's famous hopeful anthem, transforming a theatrical moment into a tangible landscape. Part of a larger series dedicated to my relationship with my mother—who passed down her lifelong love of theater and storytelling—this non-wearable, functional display mask stands as a bright, comforting exploration of memory, joy, and shared family history.
